In 2003 Libya to the west and south-west
Since my childhood, I dreamed of seeing Murzuk dunes in Libya. I often talked with my friend Cyril, a lover of Mauritania, the Sahara but also freedom. He is in 2cv or acadiane he travels the desert. So this year I told myself, no more dreams, we now turn to reality. I found a very nice travel agency with which we have always offered me excellent reports that an organization with a departure for Libya with the mechanical wizard of the same name as me. We'll see what distant cousin and we sympathize immediately. At the beginning of the raid we're also aware of and Dany Roland, a super couple with whom we share from our 4x4 trips. A mythical character is with us "Rene Metge" I take this opportunity to take driving lessons with him because the dunes, is a technical and after is experience. Have provided a good foundation for me with one of the best.
We crossed the erg Wabara, a massive dune an'en endless, back Akakus with its rock paintings and engravings, climbed the impressive dunes of Murzuk slalomed lakes of Daoud. Then return to Tripoli and Sabratha stunning Roman ruins. A little tour by Kairouan, the city symbol of Tunisian pastries and especially his famous makrouds. My wife would certainly nothing in the world for them. A must also Sidi Bou Said for a small mint tea before taking the ferry to Marseille.
